Criteria for High Giftedness![]()
High giftedness is more than intelligence. A person is regarded as intelligent with an IQ of 130 or more. Although intelligence is a condition for high giftedness, it is not the same. Nor can it necessarily be called high giftedness when somebody has a special talent for something or gets very good grades in all subjects at school. These people certainly belong to the elite and should be supported accordingly, but they are not highly gifted in the original sense. Somewhere I read the expression "positive disability" - maybe this is how high giftedness can be described best. I have collected some criteria for high giftedness which are from different sources. This list does not claim to be complete. ![]()
